Iris Communications welcomes Dawn Delaney as Vice President

Iris Communications is pleased to welcome Dawn Delaney as Vice President, Communications, supporting a growing roster of clients and complementing the firm's service offering.

Delaney is a strategic communications professional and storyteller skilled in media relations, issues management, crisis communication, reputation management, and stakeholder engagement. Most of her career has been spent managing sensitive issues and acting as a trusted advisor and coach, guiding leaders on how to simplify complex subject matter to effectively engage with a variety of audiences.

“We are excited to have Dawn join Iris and provide her strategic thinking and perspective to our clients during this complex and ever-changing environment in which they operate,” said Sean Lewis, partner, Iris Communications. “Dawn brings significant experience to our team and further builds on our service offering in corporate communications, crisis and issues management, stakeholder engagement, public affairs, and advocacy.”

Before joining Iris, Dawn spent over a decade working in Alberta’s energy sector with the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO), Husky Energy, Cenovus, and TransAlta, where she provided strategic advice and counsel to a variety of CEO’s and executive teams. She also worked with the Governments of Canada and Alberta and in the healthcare non-profit sector.

“It’s great to have returned home and joined the team at Iris,” said Delaney, who was born and raised in Pictou County and obtained her Bachelor of Public Relations with a Certificate in Marketing from Mount Saint Vincent University. “I’m excited to re-establish and expand my network while helping our clients succeed and contribute to the growth of Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canada.”

Throughout her career, Dawn has been recognized by her peers including awards from professional communication associations for stakeholder engagement programs and external rebranding campaigns.
