Sean Lewis joins Iris Communications to expand the firm’s communications offering

Sean Lewis is joining Iris Communications (Iris), an independent strategic communications, government relations, and public advocacy firm, as a partner to expand the firm’s strategic communications offering to new and existing clients.

Lewis has over a decade of experience as a senior communications advisor and corporate communications leader. Immediately prior to joining Iris, he was the Director of Communications with Irving Shipbuilding, responsible for the organization’s internal and external communications. He led an integrated team who managed the organizations employee communications, public affairs, community relations, social and digital media, and media relations.

Prior to Irving Shipbuilding, Lewis held senior roles with one of the largest public relations agencies in Canada where he provided communications advice and training to public and private sector organizations on media relations, stakeholder engagement, crisis and issues management, traditional and digital advocacy, government and investor relations, and marketing communications planning and implementation. He was also a Director with Corporate Research Associates (now Narrative Research), one of Canada’s foremost, full service market intelligence and market research companies.

He is graduate of St. Francis Xavier University and NSCC, and is certified by the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2).

At Iris, Lewis joins partners Kirby McVicar, a former Chief of Staff to the Leader of the Opposition and Premier of Nova Scotia, and Trevor Floyd, a public affairs advisor with extensive federal and provincial government experience.
