Dawn Delaney

Dawn is a strategic communications professional and storyteller skilled in media relations, crisis communication, reputation management, and stakeholder engagement. Most of her career has been spent managing sensitive issues and acting as a trusted advisor and coach, guiding leaders on how to simplify complex subject matter to effectively engage with a variety of audiences.

Before joining Iris, Dawn spent over a decade working in Alberta’s energy sector with the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO), Husky Energy, Cenovus, and TransAlta, where she mentored staff and provided strategic advice and counsel to a variety of CEO’s and executive teams. She also worked for the provincial and federal government where she conducted training and acted as a primary media spokesperson. Throughout her career, Dawn has received awards from professional communication associations for her involvement in the successful launch of stakeholder engagement programs and external rebranding campaigns.

Originally from the Maritimes, Dawn is a graduate of Mount Saint Vincent University where she obtained her Degree in Public Relations and Certificate in Marketing.
